本剧讲述了宇佐美诚司（内野圣阳 饰）是培养航空自卫队航空救难团（通称PJ）队员的救难教育队主任教官。PJ是选拔出来的精锐部队所属，在事故、灾害等特别残酷的状况下进行救难活动的“人命救助最后的堡垒”，也就是所谓的“终极救难部队”。隐藏着激烈的热情，用打破常规的训练锻炼训练生们的主任教官宇佐美，和以PJ的队员为目标，突破超难关的选拔考试的训练生们，他们将面对长达一年的“地狱”训练…
